2010 General Rules –All Classes

 
No driver or crew member to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during competition
Must have operable fire extinguisher onboard vehicle
Eye protection must be worn at all times, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Vehicle must have one 55 watt light facing rearward
All glass must be removed, windshield and exterior lights okay
All sharp objects to be removed such as chrome, antennas, cut off sheetmetal and bumpers must be rounded off
Must have working brake system on all axles
Chassis must be adequately designed to protect occupants of vehicle
Fire suits not required but recommended for all classes except atv’s. Some tracks may require them. If not long pants, shirt and shoes are min. required
All batteries of any kind must be in a box and securely fastened to vehicle
All cars and trucks of any class must have metal firewall and floorboards. Fiberglass tubs may add sheetmetal over fiberglass on firewall and beef up floorboards accordingly
All roll cages must be attached to frame not body
Recommended to have atleast one working brake light

Roll Cage Construction Guidelines
Roll cages must be of sufficient strength to protect occupants of vehicle in all reasonable circumstances
Roll cage must be efficiently attached to frame
Roll cage to be constructed of 1 5/8 x .118 wall min. for trucks and 1 1/2 x .093 wall min. for buggies
Bracing bars need to be attached to front and rear on both sides no lower than 6” from corners at top of cage
Round tubing only, no threaded or brazed joints. Joints must be welded all the way around with atleast a 3/16” fillet weld
No excessive grinding of welded joints for inspection purpose. All welded joints must be visible
If cage cannot be directly attached to frame plates they may be welded to the frame and the cage may be attached to them. Plates must be 1/4” thick by 2” wide min. with gussets to the cage and frame
Do not drill tubes of main 6 points of cage for accessories. Weld on brackets or studs and drill them for attachment points
A minimum of three side bars required. Two vertical and one horizontal or one vertical and two horizontal
Nerf bars made of the same cage tubing used for main cage recommended. It is also recommended to tie in side bars to nerf bars
All vehicles need to have a dash bar and the main hoop behind the driver x-braced
Rear downbars should extend atleast half the distance from the rear of the vehicle to the center of the rear axle
Roll cage corners must be mandrel bent and not welded connections
All areas that the occupants helmet can come in contact with roll cage should have adequate padding fastened to those areas

ATV CLASS

Helmet, goggles, chest protector, leather or riding gloves and 8" leather steel toe or riding boots required

Teather kill switch required
