Rules and Regulations: 250 Speedway 2010 Safety Guidelines
Head Gear- Drivers are required to wear an approved racing helmet with a minimum standard rating of Snell SA2005 or SA2000. A full face helmet is highly recommended but not required. Helmet must accompany car during vehicle inspection. Neck and arm restraints are highly recommended also. Fire Suit - All drivers must wear a flame retardant fire suit. Full body or two piece suits are allowed. Fireproof gloves and racing boots are highly recommended. Fire Extinguisher – Fire extinguishers are required. Each car must furnish their own fire extinguisher. Each extinguisher should be kept fully charged at all times. It is highly recommended that drivers carry an on board extinguisher as well. All on board fire extinguishers must be properly mounted. Seatbelts - Each driver must have a competition quick release harness with shoulder straps, no more than 5 years old. Drivers must wear harness and have harness fastened while on the track. (Five point harness highly recommended) No factory type seat belts may be used. It is recommended that if fraying is evident to the seat belt, it should be replaced immediately. Window Nets - All Compacts must have functional window nets. Window nets for the Mod-Lite and Sportsman Divisions are highly recommended. There must be an electrical kill switch in reach of driver, as well as a fuel shut off. Anything not covered in these rules should be confirmed with a tech official. All concerns should be checked before completing car. The top 3 finishers in a feature need to report to the tech area immediately following the race unless notified differently at the drivers meeting. Any car that does not pass a safety inspection may not race that night.
